Tra il 1868 e il 1876 le industrie Hartmann e Schwartzkopff costruirono 32 di queste locomotive per il servizio ferroviario
suburbano della Sassonia.

Le macchine originariamente avevano ruote con un diametro di 1.710 mm, poi ridotto a 1.550 mm e poi ancora a 1.390 mm.

I tender erano del tipo 2 T 5.5 oppure 2 T 5.65.

Vennero immatricolate dalla Deutsche Reichsbahn solo 3 delle 32 locomotive costruite, le quali furono poi ritirate nel 1925.
